TATTOO TIME!

When you read the title, did you automatically think of Tattoo from the TV show Fantasy Island?
Do you remember when he would run up the main bell tower to ring the bell and announce the arrival of a new set of guests at the beginning of each episode?
<---- He would shout, "The plane! The plane!"
If you were expecting Fantasy Island, then I am sorry to disappoint because this blog is about body ink.

I absolutely, positively ADORE tattoos.
Yep, I said it! This old bird loves hearing the stories behind the art people proudly display.
Sadly, I do not have any artwork to share, but if you have read Sweet Expressions then you have read about the tattoo that I would love to have.
This is not it, but I truly love the script.                                               ---->

Over the past few years, my admiration of body ink has grown to a near obsession.
It is usually the first thing that catches my eye.
Whenever I see someone’s art I immediately ask, “Is there a story behind it?”
I love hearing the stories, and I have found that many tattoos are attached to a lost loved one.
It is a wonderful way to create or continue the legacy of some special ... long after they have passed.
Therefore, I am reaching out to you!
Do you have any tattoos you would like to have highlighted on my blog?

Do they have a story behind them or did you pick the art for another reason?
If you are proud of your ink and are willing to share, please send a picture along with the reason you selected that particular design to s.cadeaux@hotmail.com and depending on the number of emails I receive, it could be displayed here!
*Please Note* I deeply respect privacy, and if you want to share but not have your tattoo featured, I will happily respect your wishes.
Looking forward to hearing from you, along with seeing your incredible artwork.
Wishing you the best adventures in reading and in life!
Brightest blessings,

It's Time To PARTY (Cyber Style)!

How many times have we asked, “Why isn’t it Friday?”

Sure … we’ve all heard the saying, “It’s hump day.” I am sure a guy made that up, and they are not talking about camels or the middle of the weeks blahs.

Well mark your calendars my friends because Author Dean Sault has released his book and is throwing a cyber party!

He has asked me to help host the event.

Those who know me know I am extremely shy and it takes forever for me to open up. However, when behind the keyboard, I can relax and be myself.

Warning … I can be a Sass minus the capital S.

That's right! It is the other word for donkey. That's me --->

Tonight is party night and we are officially inviting EVERYONE to come!

Reader, bloggers, writer and lurkers.

Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy an evening of chat, games and prizes.

This will be two hours of unforgettable fun!

Here is the link: http://tinyurl.com/nct3wve

Oh … and remember.

This is a cyber party, you can wear your pajamas, boxers or have curlers in your hair!

We don’t care how you dress or if you are eating deep fried Twinkies (yep they’re back!) because this party is all about having fun and celebrating and awesome release!

Below are the details that Dean Sault has kindly provided.

Ghost of Lost Eagle Launch Party!

Hosts for the Ghost of Lost Eagle Release Party are Author Dean Sault, Author Sass Cadeaux and Freelance Editor Sue Sault (yes, when a writer and editor live in the same house, it must be a two-story home so they can get away from each other!)
Release day prizes for the games listed below – winners may choose one of the following:
1) free copy of Ghost of Lost Eagle
2) autographed poster of the cover
3) $5 Amazon gift card.
Winners will be notified during the event by a PM sent to them on Facebook requesting information needed to deliver the prizes (email address for e-book and gift card; physical address for the poster.)
GAME# 1:  Chain story contest – I will start a fiction story with two characters and leave it hanging. Anyone can then add the next paragraph. Another person will then add a following paragraph and so on until we have a real story going. You can add as many paragraphs as you want, but there must be at least one other person’s paragraph between your posts. This story should be a lot of fun. Keep it clean, and enjoy the creativity of fellow posters.
RULES (Yep, as much as I dislike rules, any contest must have the darn things)
1) You must write the word “Chain:” at the beginning of your post to distinguish your contest paragraph from other normal conversation.
2) Your chain-post is limited to 100 or fewer words. (over 100 words is a disqualification)
3) The main character’s name must be included at least once in your paragraph.
4) You may use first or third person, and change tenses, but be sure you are consistent within your paragraph.
Judging:  There are three secret judges who will be reading your posts during the event. The chain story contest will end fifteen minutes before the end of this event so that judges have a chance to argue (knowing these ladies there WILL be arguments) to make their selections and submit them to me. I will post the results for the following categories:

creativity,  humor,  suspense,  dialog,  eloquence,  description,  change of pace,  emotional impact,  subplot,  character development
GAME #2:
Throughout the event, one of us three hosts will shout out, “PRIZE TIME!” This will be followed by a fun question. Some answers can be found in the book Ghost of Lost Eagle, while others are easily found by doing a quick Google search. We’ll even add hints or links. The first person to complete the task and post the correct answer wins.

Lucky Rain

Are you superstitious?
I used think superstitions were silly old wives’ tale that parents used to “scare” their kids into behaving well.
My mother was extremely superstitious, everyday she would chime out some kind of warning or reminder. Below are some that I will never forget.

☞ An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
☞ If a black cat crosses your path, you will have bad luck.
☞ Break a mirror and you will have bad luck for seven years.
☞ Eat your crust. It is good for you and it is the best part of the bread.
☞ If you eat raw potatoes, you will get worms.
☞ It is bad luck if a bird flies into your house.
☞ Never put new shoes on a table. If you do, you are welcoming death into the   family.
☞ Don’t walk under a ladder.
☞ If you kill a spider, it will rain.
☞ If you spill salt, you must throw some over your left shoulder to avoid bad luck.
☞ If you swallow your gum, it will stick to your ribs.
☞The number 13 is bad luck. I don’t know why, she never explained it.
☞ Never EVER open an umbrella in the house.
☞ If a bird poops on you, you will have good luck.

Why blog about superstitions when I have two deadlines just around the corner?
Last night, while at my son’s football practice, a mom was blessed by a bird. Yep … it pooped on her.
Immediately, I said, “That’s a sign of good luck.”
Then my mind screamed, Why would I say that? Why is it good? Oh my God, I have become my mother!
For the remainder of practice, I continued to wonder.

❧ How did those superstitions begin?
❧ Who were those old wives’?
❧ And, were they drinking when they started those tales?

Today, I dug a little deeper and found (some) reasonable answers.
The bird bomb is “apparently” a one in a million shot. Nearly the same odds as picking winning lottery numbers.
Did it rain luck or did that bird decide it wanted to be a quarterback and that mom was the receiver?
It makes sense since we were at a football practice. Maybe the bird was wrapped up in the excitement of the scrimmage?
Personally, if it was raining luck, I don’t think it’s the kind of luck I would want.

I think a horseshoe would be much better than a bird bomb.
That is, as long as the horseshoe is not flying at my head. :)

Which brings me back to my original question, are you superstitious?
If so ... do you think it was lucky rain, and should that mom buy a lottery ticket?
If it is lucky then oh how I wish my truck could talk and give me the winning numbers.
The birds have been blessing my truck with luck daily!
Do you recall any "warnings" that are not on the above list? If so, please share.
As always, comments and feedback are welcome with open arms and closed umbrellas (when indoors)!
